You're welcome David it is a gorgeous piece :)

What are you using for lighting? I've clothes pinned a white hankerchief or tissue paper over the light to diffuse the lighting in the past (knocks down the specular lighting on the subject)

Brilliant Davie, blown it up a lot and it looks super. Love the work on his armour and the horse is a work of art on its own. Great to see it finished.

Congratulations Dave! Great job on all aspects, the horse, armoured details, everything. It was well worth the wait. I have to ask though, did you wind up using an airbrush?

    Hi! David.
It's very gorgeous and beautiful work.
    I think a brilliant masterpiece.
    Do you use oil paints?
There seems to be gloss in a horse for me.
And I think that's very effective.
    I congratulate completion.

    Re: Decurion Equitum, beautiful

    Hello David:

Well, I get to return the favor. I'm working on an equestrian figure, as I've
indicated previously, and so I think doing equestrian figures is very difficult.

Wow, you have set the bar really high. I love the colour harmoney of this
presentation. I notice for example that the horse blanket is approx. the same
colour as the red on the column. And the choice of that violet colour
for the horse equipage is just brilliant. You have a good grasp of how to use
    colour, . . . obviously.

Beautiful rendering of the horse, and each aspect of all the details.

Congrats on a beautiful piece, David

Thanks Guys for all your very kind comments. All painting was done in oils with the exception of the metals. In the end I did not use an airbrush on the horse, maybe give it a try on a future project. Will try to do some more photos as these do not show all blending and tones to advantage.

    Cheers David

Can i ask you what kind of colors you used on the horse. It's exceptionel painted in black.
I never had the guts to do a black horse...but with the right help!!!
