Xenofon, thanks a lot for your comments.

Perhaps I must try to solve some problems in the jacket but I waiting the final composition for doing that. Another thing is that probably I must add some dark color washes in the face (also I am going to wait for doing that). I will send you the next pics as soon as I can get more progress on it.

Guy, thanks a lot four your kindly comments.

If I say the true I was not sure about the correct color of the trousers. I was looking some pics in Osprey book about british infanntry in Crimea and the trousers appears like black (??). I also look another painters results and also seems to be black, but the manufacturer instructions say "Blue" and I decided to do a very dark blue (in the pics seems to be more lighter than in reality). I hope I cannot make a big mistake :(

Also probably I must use matt varnish over the trousers. What do you think about it?

    regards,

    Rafa

    Rafa,

Why should you do a matt varnish over the trousers??? You paint in oils?? So i now blue is not as matt as other colours, but the blue off oil is alot matt than a varnish. Iff you paint in acryl the matt of the paint is enough matt.
Let it be. The instruction is confiouse you :(
( i am hoping that you do understand what i just wrote down)

Marc, thaks a lot for your interest. I am painting with acrylics (Vallejo). The Vallejo acrylics tends to be satin in blue colors. Because that I wonder if I need to use a matt varnish.
