    Hey Guys!

Here is Bud Gardner #2 finished. I tried to make him look a little more worn and dirtied up this time around. I personally feel it is a lot better then the first but I will let you guys be the judge of that!

    He Anders
I like this face, more lifelike then the first one. Ik like the combination of the tigerstripes and the other cammo on the booniehat, it seems it given the bust more "soul"

btw any idear the bust will released or didn't hear 'bout it

But, I saved the pics into my "referencefolder" on the pc

    Hey Bert,

Thank you, I am glad that you agree that this one is little better then the first one.

I am not sure when it will be released, as soon as I find out I will let you know.

Anders, The face looks a little more worn but the uniform still seems to lack a lot of highlights and shadows. Do you think that by possibly painting the lightest color first and shading and highlighting it as if it's the only color, and then adding the additional colors would give it a more realistic look? Just a thought.~Gary

    Hey Gary,

Thanks for posting Gary, that is exactly what I did! Started with the light tan then worked from there. Maybe I should have been more extreme, it looked pretty harsh at the time. I dusted it with some pastells as well, maybe that helped to wash it out as well :(

    Hey Roc,

    Thanks buddy!

    Anders,

The face on this one does looks a lot better, but I have to agree with Gary about the highlights and shadows. You might try adding some glazes of Chocolate Brown to the shadows. For the highlights, maybe some really thin glazes of Iraqi Sand or Pale Sand. I also think if you hit the edging with a lighter color that would bring some more detail out.

    Hey Anders,

I think you have done a nicer job on this one but I have a few things that I think might may make it better but this is just me. :) I think , from the pictures, that you were going for a blonde and that looks ok but his beard and mustache don't look right, the color. I personally have never seen a blonde with a dark brown or black mustache or beard. He looks like he has had a blonde frosting? I think maybe if you made the hair more of the mustache color it would take care of it. The next thing is that I think you need to do some of the highlighting and shadowing that Gary was talking about but what I see the most is the boonie hat. I am not sure what they are called but the section that runs around it needs to separated. You can do this by outlining, some shadowing and highlighting. Now this is just what I may have done so I hope that you just take this with a grain of sand.

I do like how you did some detail work on the hand. ;) I still think that this is by far a better rendition of Bud and I think you have done a nice job all the way around.

Anders, my friend, this version looks a whole lot better. I concur with Joe & Gary - more shadows on the camo. As for the blonde frosting on the hair, I have the perfect remedy: quit watching "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy"!

The above comment reminds me of a girl I once dated. Blonde hair on her head all the way to the roots, but in other areas hmmmm, dark brown.

    Hey Guys!

    Thanks for all the comments!

As for the hair beard/moustache combo, I think its ok, I am pretty blonde and as you know my goatee and eyebrows are very dark. I personally have not seen a lot of blondes with light facial hair, except when its gray that is.

As for the shadows, I don't think it would turn out too hot to apply washes, especially not over all the pastells that are present. I'll just keep it in mind for the next time I paint camo, I will paint it with "White to Black" contrast as a lot of it seams to disapear.
