Hi, I've just started this old figure. The face, beret and collar are pretty much finished.

The base is looking very blank. I'd like to put a load of accessories on it - maybe ammo boxes or an oil drum, a sten gun, tank ammo - anything relevant to the figure basically. Any ideas where I could get this sort of stuff?

    Thanks!

Looking at those overalls, a scattering of winter snow on the base would set the figure off nicely...

Is it asking too much to have steam coming off that mug of tea? :)

Great looking face IMO I wouldn't put too much clutter on the base maybe a "desert stove" ie 1/2 a jerry can filled with earth soaked in petrol that you can brew your tea on ?

    This is the original style[IMG]
But I know they were used in Europe as well

He's an absolute classic Edward. I wonder if Roger Saunders sculpted him?
How about displaying him with a thermette with a kettle boiling away on it. Maybe his bivvy close by.
After all the brew came from some where & he'd be unlikely to cook around ammo ;-)

Not sure who sculpted it Mike. I'd like to find out though.

I'll leave ammo off the base then and hopefully put some other stuff on. I don't usually clutter bases with these types of accessories but thought it could look good with this figure.

    Excellent painting so far Edward!

I'd love to get this figure some day. It's one of the Verlinden range's best in my opinion and well up to today's standard.

    Cheers,

Wow! That's some top notch brush work Edward (y)!! As old as this figure is (mid 80s perhaps ?), he really holds up well. The ground work and accessories really enhance the display.
