Just re-posting on vBench so these will add to my vBench list, sorry to those who've seen this already.

In case, this is a 75mm Romeo, British Grenadier of the 18th Regiment of Foot, 1751. Painted in Vallajo acrylics and Citadel metallics.

Like the figure, excellent flesh tones,
less sure about the groundwork, it looks a bit unrealistic to me , more like a stage set.

You right Steve, the base is rather monolithic, it's the first pedestal base I made from scratch. I did it at work on midnight shift without the fig and kinda over-guesstimated.

Peter, your comment on the groundwork is a popular one. This has been a weak spot for me. I have one in the works now and with the advise and tips I've been getting hopefully the end result is better. Once I get my head around this, I may come back to this one.

Nice neat painting Colin,but I would try to do a bit more with the gaiters and maybe a few deep shadows under arms ,belts etc.

And the base, that's something where you allready work on.

Very nice job indeed Colin but like some others I feel he needs some more shadows on the white of his gaiters.

Thank you for your imput... as always a great help.

White is always hellish for me, as are other light colours (grey, yellow, buff etc). Since finishing this I've had some 'lessons' which have given me a better approach to white. Hopefully it will show better in future posts.
