I don't know what you use it for Josie?
But woodworking PVA is excellent for groundwork.

For glueing what Josephine? Superglue, two-part epoxy, a liquid solvent glue and PVA should about cover all eventualities.

I have always relied on Dove 5 minute two part epoxy resin glue . Bostik all purpose sounds a bit unreliable for for long term adhesion to me Josie !! it might work right away but I wouldn't like to rely on it 2 years down the line .

Mix it on a tile or something like aluminium foil.

Anything will do Josephine as long as it's fairly hard and none absorbent, tile or aluminium foil being the usual as mentioned. As you haven't really mentioned what use you are going to put this to a drop of super glue will act as a fixer while the resin cures if you are using it on figures etc
