Gee Wiz Tony, couldn't you have picked a more difficult camo pattern? HA! Looks good from here and the face is coming along nicely. The "stare" is there, you pegged it.

So after a week of painting Tiger stripe camo, here’s how far I’ve managed to get. I’m seeing tiger stripes in my dreams now.

I'd say that's a particularly realistic attempt at tigerstripe camo, Tony! Nice one.

    Hi Tony

Now that camo looks really good ......time well spent for sure ...a " like " isn't enough

You've certainly achieved the effect looking at the original you have

Goes without saying ..it's a impressive piece even at this stage

    Thanks for sharing

    Happy Benchtime

    Thanks for your comments chaps.

I think I’ve unlocked the “code” of how to paint Tiger stripe. Mostly through a process of trial and error.

I’m working my way down the sleeves now, and then I’ll go back over the camo and do a million tiny touch ups.

Brilliant I don't think the close ups were doing it justice. Bit like the Mona Lisa when you get up close. These show the overall effect a lot better. This is motivating me to crack on with more tiger stripes.

    Hi guys
Just returned from a long weekend with mates staying at a beach house, where we painted our models and drank far too much.

I’ve managed to crack on with my bust. Back pack, weapon and webbing have now been base coated and needs to be camouflaged and then weathered. Still only painted in acrylics at this stage. Next step is to apply oil washes.

Thanks Chris, I’m just as eager as you are to see how this turns out mate.

Hi Nap, had a couple of dusty mornings after some rather excellent bottles of Shiraz (many actually). I’m amazed I got any painting done and all. I have an intriguing idea for presenting this bust, but I’ll leave you in suspense for a few more weeks while I finish up the painting.

Kia Ora Mike, thanks for your comments mate. I’d love to see you tackle another NA piece, but I won’t hold my breath. I’m still working on the eyes and intend to do more touch ups on the face before I cover it in camo creme.
