One of the things I've taken to doing when the budget doesn't allow me to expand my grey army, is to strip the paint of an old figure and redo it. This example is elite's classic knight from... I can't even remember when. I decided to add a banner which in this case is a version of the "Oriflamme" of the King of France. It's made from rolled out MS. I have also been struggling mightily with the photography, so I apologize in advance for any frustration you may have viewing these pictures. Cheers all.

Hi Daniel. I wish I could paint metal like that as well...what you 're seeing is burnished or polished metal, stained with oil paint to add shadows. Nothing looks like metal than metal. I hope that doesn't ruin your admiration of my painting skill:whistle:

Another great looking paint job Glenn. Agree that the finish on the metal bits is lovely and also really like the shield and garment design. Would be fun to see a side by side of the old and new finishes.

Thanks Dave, that would have been a good idea, but naturally I didn't think of it. The old paint job was mostly black, with the Heraldry borrowed from my family crest ( bit of an ego trip). I liked this more colourful scheme and felt I might be able to pull it off now that I've had a bit more practice. Glad you like it in any case.

Lovely work Glenn, if I tried to do that with Blue and Yellow, I'm sure some Green would end up in there somewhere:D

Glenn, I don't know about the previous version, but this sure is one hell of a paintjob!

I also vote for a before and after pic by the way!

Thanks Maurizio, Chris, Marc, Adrian, Eduardo, and Dan, I am bery happy that you all enjoyed seeing this new take on an old classic.
Alan, you're probably right in that it could well be a Pegaso kit. I bought it over 10 years ago, but it still stands up well against the latest releases IMO.
Thanks also Keith, the secret to my avoiding green areas was to wait a LONG time for the yellow to dry, and then to do the blue stripes in acrylic before shading the same stripes with oils.

Thanks Brian, always good to here from you and glad that you like this effort. Cheers Carl, I can only promise to take few pictures BEFORE I do this again. But trust me, you would have been impressed because the first job was well before I had a chance to learn from many others here.
