This is how my version of Rich Odell's relief bust of Amy Johnson is looking at the moment.
Progress is slow as previous attempts at painting wet on wet with oils have led to disaster, now I'm trying to wait until dry before applying the next glaze.
This is a beautifully sculpted and cast piece and is available here, http://www.richardodell.com/

Quite a challenge here Roger. Really interested in how you tackle the face particularly the eyes in this scale.
Great looking piece, like what you've done so far.
    Cheers

Thanks Derek. I have a plan but the paint is taking ages to dry.

Off to a great start on this one Roger!

Unfortunately the sale page is down at the moment because the initial run sold out. More castings are being produced and should be available in the next few days. If anyone wants to reserve a casting please use my contact page on the website.

Hi Roger, that's a brilliant start mate. The face looks very well proportioned and will be quite a challenge to paint. Keep up the good work.

I made a start on her eyes this morning. Once dry I will refine them some more.

Thanks very much Brian. I think this piece would suit your style of painting very well.

Nice start, Roger! I like where you're going with the flesh tones, and the leather looks real.

I think I remember the discussion about this piece and others in this style. Not quite a flat, not fully-round.

    Prost!
