In an attempt to clear my "Parade of Shame" I'm motoring on with this tiny fellow, he's been hanging around for ages :(

Used an Airbrush for the first time on a 1/35th figure, it worked! Low pressure and a steady hand, worked the creases up with an hair brush :)

    It's wonderful progress, Mark.
The color of the uniform is very beautiful.
    I'd like to follow.

Gordy and Mitsutaka ... Thanks for the interest guys :)

Some progress after a very pleasant afternoon with wet brushes, tried using some Vallejo Thinner Medium after chatting with Dave Maddox at S&L a couple of weeks ago ( thanks Dave :) ) and it's different to the flow enhancer I normally use, practice will follow :)

Also used Vallejo Smoke for the first time on this figure and I like it ( very similar to GW Washes specifically Gryphon Sepia but seems to flow a little better ).

Also been mucking about with the picture taking and did a mega close up to shame myself :( But he looks good to the eye and at more reasonable resolutions :)

Very nice Mark. Not so tiny as your previous ones, but still tiny!

I'm curious about your experiments with Smoke and Thinner medium. Could you say a bit more about this please?

    Cheers,
    Adrian

Mark, excellent painting and it shows when you can enlarge the picture and show minimal loss of quality.

Nothing wrong with that, even at extreme magnification.

    Pedro ... Many thanks :)

    Ken ... Cheers :)

    Carl ... ;)

    Steve ... Thanks again :)

    Almost there! ....

Adrian asked about the Thinning Medium ... It's quite nice but I'm still trying to decide if it's better than Flow enhancer or indeed different. Both help the paint to flow and prevent water marking ....

The smoke I used for the fur and those Felt? parts on the boots, it flows into the dtail and acts like a wash, very nice and it dilutes down to make subtler finishes..

Anyway still a lot of tidying up to do and some work to do dirtying it all up!

That's the lid of a 2ltr pop bottle he's stood on BTW :)

Can you read minds Mark? I was looking at a 1/35th boxcar on E bay today, but it wasn't European. Any way enough waffle, looking good. Where did you source the rails?
    Carl.

Carl check the orange box stuff from cyberhobby ;)

These are some Dragon parts I had kicking about ... If you need a short bit of rail let me know ;)

    And thanks :)

Nice progress, and thanks for the explanation Mark. I'm going to give that a try...

Just one comment: I think those felt parts on the boots should be a somewhat lighter colour; a bit like the inside of the hood. On the other hand, this guy's been running through quite some muck...

    Cheers,
    Adrian
