Today we are going to take a look at a new release by AIMS. This is a Luftwaffe pilot in winter uniform. ..Or better say extreme cold winter gear!..Its a 1/32 scale figure which is also available in 1/48 and 1/72 scale.I purchased this figure in both 1/32 and 1/48th directly from AIMS owner Mr. John McIllMurray. You can contact him in the following email : aimsmodels1@gmail.com. Communication and transaction was fast and smooth. Now let’s take a closer look at the figure. The figure is 3D designed and the sculptor used most probably the following original photo as reference

    HEAD
Starting from the head we have a detailed looking face with crisply clear features wearing a typical Luftwaffe visor cap which also sports all the insignia in a detailed and subtle way

    BODY
Moving down to the main piece (torso and legs) detail is also excellent .On the torso are attached the arms with The left one in slightly raised position to stand on the orizontal stabilizer of an Fw 190 and the right one sitting on the hip

So here we have a shearling winter version of the “Kanaljacke” which was not electrically heated

This type of jacked was widely used the Luftwaffe pilots and it can be found in different colour variations.

Around the waist and on top of the jacket it wears a leather belt with aluminum Luftwaffe EM/MCO buckle from which it’s hanging a detailed LKpW 101 leather flying helmet

The off white coloured trouser is a version of the shearling fliegerhosen without pockets made out of undyed sheepskin .This was also not electrically heated. These trousers were mostly manifactured in Hungary for the Luftwaffe.
The foot gear is a pair of the typical luftwaffe pilot’s boots most propably the elecrically heated version.Something that cant be seen as the plug was located on the rim.

Also here are some comparison photos of the 1/48 scale version of this figure against the 1/32 th..Detail also in this smaller scale is excellent!!.

    CONCLUSION
Some may say that this yet another ww2 pilot figure..But the out of the ordinary relaxed pose ,the winter gear , the details and casting quality makes this figure stand out. Highly recommended to all Luftwaffe modellers

    Hi there Vassilis

That's a great review , well written and presented ..ideal relaxed pose for a diorama with a plane both full and as a wedgie

Perhaps we might see your version when it's used

    Thanks for sharing

    Hope we see more

The resin sure looks soft..details adequate, but is nicely proportioned, the face especially is good resemblance of image..would make nice diorama complement
