Very well done but I don't get the scene.
The first one is telling to be quiet but there's a german already dead suggesting there's recently been a fight. So why be quiet? They (the germans) probably know they're there. And what's funny is that the second Gi isn't even looking at the other. Actually is kind of showing of.
It would have been more realistic if the first one would give a sign to the second one to lay down. Just in case there's another.

Vergilius, as I see it, the standing guy is just wiping his knive in his left hand, supposing they suprised a guard, so 'they' don't have to know about them, and if we suppose 'they' are around, the same way there could be other GI's coming, who has to be quiet, you can imagine many things to a dio like this.

I like it a lot!

Nice one, mate. I have to agree with everyone else, the German is one of the most realistic corpses I have seen. Great following along with the SBS. Glad to see someone sticks to a project through to the end.

Thanks for all the responses folks. It's a favorite subject of mine.

To clear up the composition and story. The 1st SSF gained the nickname "Black Devils" by infiltrating enemy lines. They left calling cards behind, and yes the occasional corpse. The idea here is a lone sentry has been neutralized. The kneeling person is responsible for forward security, up the alley while the corpse is being hidden. A noise has been detected further back in the patrol. The person wiping his knife looks in the same direction as the kneeling figure. His look is one of quiet irritation, the kneeling man reminds the rest to remain silent.

Very nice work John. The scene is a tight, clever execution of space and is very well painted. I am curious in a how to kind of way about the sculpting and or converting of the figures. I actually like the composition of the figures - a visual three point effect is actually achieved here- with the dead German, one GI is scouting the scene while the kneeling GI is motioning to the perhaps others off the base to stay down and keep quiet..a scene typical in close house to house fighting. Well done!
