    Hi guys,

I just wrapped up this 54mm piece released by Pegaso around 20 years or so ago. I was inspired by the master Mike Blank. His version of this figure remains one of my all-time favorites. Painted with acrylics. Thanks for looking!

Ridiculously excellent work, and a masterclass in painting black and white.

Indisputably on a par with Mike Blank's version - and arguably even better.

I painted this figure along with the 'Alexander Nevski' accompanying piece 11 years ago and looking at it today, it still stands the test of time in terms of detail and sculpt. Alas the paint job I did is a pale shadow of this version. As a masterclass in white, I think this is right up there with the very best in the hobby.

A delight to look at - thank you for the pics.

Great bit of painting , and no doubt planning the paint sequence as I'm sure there was a lot to put together as you painted .

Thanks Mike! The caparison was painted with the "Bone" triad from Reaper. The tunic/flag were painted with a mix of German Camo Black Brown (Vallejo), US Field Drab (Vallejo), and Creamy Ivory (Reaper). This mix can be made warmer or colder by adjusting the ratio of GCBB to US Field Drab.

Thanks Ronaldo! Very true, this was a complex figure requiring a lot of planning and subassemblies!

    Hi Jason

I remember seeing MB's version on a cover of a Modellisimo book called Black and White .....all I am saying is yours should be along with it ...great whites and weathering and thanks for posting the colours you used...in my little black book !!

Why not think about entering FOTM as well with a piece

    Thanks for sharing

    Happy benchtime

Yes! That's the book! I had that by my side the whole time I was painting this figure. Thank you very much for your comments!
