A message to all vendors interested in a stand at the World Model Expo 2020:
On the WME 2020 website we have put up some basic information about stand reservations. You can find this info on the FAQ page: http://www.wme2020.com/faq/

We would like to point out that all interested vendors are required to sign up for the vendors mailing list. If you're not signed up you will not receive the invitation to register in April 2019, and are likely to miss out on the registration all together.

    Hi,
does anyone knows if the reception of models only happens on the 3rd or if it extends the 4th?

    Cheers

From a Scottish perspective the dates are brutal. Coincides exactly with the school holidays when the flight prices quadruple.

Now that all the children :) are done with school I gonna visit for the first time a WE. It was always in the holidays. Never understand why???
It is indeed a brutal date. But I think the date is not set through the SMC team. I believe this is done by others

Yeah it's always about this time of year. I suppose it's logical as most of the countries in the northern hemisphere have their major holiday about then.
Really looking forward to it already (y)

It appears that all 500 rooms are now booked at the Konigshof. This is despite the organisers website clearly stating that the booking would be from the 7th July, the day they were planning to release their discount code. They have deleted that particular section from the website....surprise. surprise....
Given this situation I assume that no-one who has booked has received the discount.
Be interested to find out if there has been a leak of the code prior to the 7th.

It's apity that the opening date for booking was changed without a sound. I was planning on starting to try on the 7th and to my surprise it opened before.

I even emailed the hotel on the 29th June to confirm the date but got no reply.

If the possible traders were given preference than that piece of information should have been mentioned by the organization.

I may consider going, as it is only about 1.5-2hr away from my parents in Belgium. Visit the parents on Thursday, the show on Friday, say hi to the parents on Saturday and be home on Sunday.

    They made their choice.

Given that there were only 500 rooms, I'm not surprised that they've been snapped up already, for an event like this.

Regarding the code, I doubt that there was some leak of it. Chances are, it's not even set up yet in whatever system they use to take reservations.

    Prost!

You can take the airplane to Eindhoven. From there it's a half hour driving with a bus. Station is in front of the veneu.
Then you don't have to drive at all. Beside that, we come to Folkstone and then we must drive left. It's just 5 miles and yo are use to it. And it is almost highway. If you are speeding enough you can drive left :D MY experience.

    Hi Badger,

It is fairly easy to drive in Europe the best bit of advice would be to keep the curb on your side, if your taking your UK car over. Which helps keep you on the right side of the road and you have to think about turning left and right to make sure you end up on the correct side of the road. Roundabouts are a biot more interesting as you go the wrong way round them.

Other than that the road are a lot less busy than in the UK so if you drive sensibly and pay attention you should become comfortable with driving fairly quickly and the European drivers are more courteous than those in the UK.

Also I have driven to the venue from Calais (about 3 to 4 hour) and from the Hook of Holland (about 2 hours). Down side of coming from Calais is you have to go around the Antwerp ring road which can make the M25 look like a quiet road.

Happy to answer any other questions,

    Hello everybody,

    some messages from the board.

Let's start with the good news: The NH hotel at the venue has informed us that they have found some free rooms, so you can use the link on the WME website to book a room at the hotel. We have no idea where the rooms came from, but never mind, there are some, with emphasis on some. So don't hesitate if you still want to stay close to where it'll all happen in July next year: https://www.wme2020.com/hotelreservations/

More good news: some general info including admission prices are mentioned on the WME landing page: https://www.wme2020.com/

And, above all: the contest info (English only), and more specific info like rules, classes and judging criteria (in 6 languages) can be found in the dedicated contest page: https://www.wme2020.com/contest/

More to come in the next weeks and months. Stay tuned!

Try the A.A. site, they will let you know what you need to drive on the Continent.
