    Rp Models 75mm Parthia Catafratari, NAP has already reviewed the 'Bust-orama' here https://www.planetfigure.com/threads/rp-models-bustorama-parthian-camel-warrior.158016/ - and I have to say its the same for this version, the same quality and superb casting. A few photos below, but it has to be seen with the naked eye to appreciate the quality. Its going to be a challenge to bring out the best of the whole piece. I have also already found the adverdsary for this , so will be creating a small vignette once its all completed.

    The three main pieces together, i should say they are not glued, tacked just joined together, such is the quality of the fittting;

    [IMG]

    The camels neck and head, again adorned with superb sculpting and casting;

    [IMG]

    Just look at the details in the mouth, teeth and tongue;

    [IMG]

    [IMG]

    The rider comes in three main parts, to which his arms and a choice of two heads are fitted;

    [IMG]

    Separate heads;

    Darth Vader look;

    [IMG]

    Open helmet, going to take a very small file to remove the casting 'lip';

    [IMG]

    Lots of lovely cast wood and metal detail on the sheild;

    [IMG]

    I cleaned up the camel and rider last night and pinned the pieces to some cork tops, so i can get them primed tonight.

    Hope your not in a rush to get anywhere , not the fastest painter on here :D

    Think i will paint up both, and see how i get on with the open helmet version, If i am honest i would prefer the open helmet one , to go with the roman soldier screaming back, but I will have to see how i do with it, if not i can fall back on the closed version.

    Nap,
    Its going to be something , but spectacular maybe a push :unsure: . I may just mount it as is, Tracey Enim style and call it "demise of the Catafratari" :D , on a separate note funny how the brain can learn a new word so quick, number of times I misspelt Catafratari, now - it just rolls of the tongue :happy:

    Sometimes things dont go to plan, tonight been a prime example. Thought I would spray up both camels. Base coat on fine but from there they ended up looking like a child with dulux paint had painted them by numbers. So a good 1hr and a half wasted. Wasnt getting anywhere so rebase coated them and have another go another day. One thing though the fit of the camel parts is superb , no gaps anywhere. Onwards and upwards.

    Hi Steve

    I know what you mean about the spelling bit !...I blame that Hugo fellow ...should have called it Kamel , no hang on that's not right now .....

    The pieces are certainly going together well ...it wasn't a wasted 1 and half hours ..call it testing .....

    I think, this is where it broke off, seems to be a seam join, it was missing at the priming stage, so maybe its in the box the kit came in - hopefully

    Call of the search parties, as suspected it was loose in the box. Nice clean break so should glue on fine once finished. Along with one of the wooden posts I managed to knock off as well.
