Current process, I have remained in the tartan which is causing me many problems, as it is very difficult for me to do so, the tartan is from the Ogilvi Clan.
If anyone can help me make it happen, I'd appreciate it.

Nice work on the face so far.

However, looking at the colour references on the packaging it struck me that the Chisholm tartan looks a bit strange. So see here for all registered Chisholm setts and here for the oldest know (c1800).

Likewise the Ogilvy setts look little like the registered ones here although it does crop up under the alternative spelling of Ogilvie here (though why a clansman would be wearing a hunting tartan is unclear).

The Farquharson also looks about right (see here), although it may well post date Culloden.

On a general note, a list of all of the clans represented at Culloden is given in the order of battle in the article here, so just about any OLD highland clan sett from that list could be used on the figure (search here).

However, a word of warning: not only do few authenticated early tartans survive, other than in paintings, but also, there is little evidence that tartans were specific to a clan or sept (though they may have been a traditional local weaver's pattern). Indeed, an individual could well wear two or even three or so tartans together (common in paintings of the gentry). The lowlanders, and gentry in particular, were likely to wear tailored jacket and trews (here) and the rank and file a belted plaid as here (which makes the figures broached fly doubtful)..

The modern obsession with regulated tartans largely stems from the standardisation of regimental tartans and the tartan craze of the C19th.

This and this site are useful ref the development of tartan and highland dress.

This site also gives useful guidance on the likely muted, indeed muddy, tones of older tartan cloth (so avoid bright, vivid colours as obtained via modern chemical dyes).

    Cheers for the info, Neil.
I have an idea for this episode in Scottish history, and have already assembled the figures I need for it. Did not have time yet to do some research, and your links hav significantly reduced the time I will be needing for this.
First finish the MSc, then Dain Ironfoot, the cursed pirates crew and Napoleon crossing the Alps before I am ready to tackle this idea.

Arkangelo, great work on your work so far, looks very lifelike. Ar you using acrylics?

Thank you Landrotted, if it is acrylic but at the beginning of painting used oils, which I will use again in future projects.
    greetings
