Feels a bit like I am catching up on missed time while working on my MSc this year, but hey, once in a while some distraction is actually beneficial.

So I bought this bust 2nd hand (had already been primed). This is my first array in depicting plate armour on this scale. The skin and clothing is done in oils, while for the metals I used a variety of metallic paints (Mr Metal colour base, highlighted with Ushi van der Rosten polishing powders - for the gold an intermediat highlight with gold oil paint).

Still a work in progress, but now focussing on details.
    Looking forward to any comments.

Could you use it to paint those difficult to reach areas?

I recall many (many) years ago reading some well known miniaturist saying 'if you can see it you can paint it'.

I never found that true so I await your PhD with interest... I got my doctorate in business mgt last year (at 66 a vanity project:))

Played a bit with Photoshop and lowered the light levels. Brings out the texture of the cape a bit more. For your info, the texture has been painted on, but the damage to the fabric has been sculpted.

Looks very good......I painted this one a while back and still the thing that I notice when I look at it is the look and detail of the mouth. Funny how certain details strike each others fancy a bit different. Keep up the good work...……...
