I started the fourth "V" bust from Mick's Mick's with the pre-shading of the uniform and painting the eyes all in acrylics.

Then this morning I painted the face using Artist's oils.

That's it for today as the lovely smell of Sunday lunch is making it's way up to The Hanger.

Thanks Guys, I did try to get a sun burnt look Nap, not quite sure if I got it.

Not sure at the moment Mick, I want to do the tunic in one sitting so it may be a few days time.

Lunch was great, beef with all the trimmings.

Great start as always. Good looking face. The graying hair is a good idea. This fellow is no raw recruit.

    Thanks for your comments.
I shall be leaving the face as is, now it has dried it looks OK.
The greying hair was the wifes idea, I hadn't painted it in skin colouring and it was just white primer and as he is a Sgt. (not that you would know it on a "V" bust) I thought it would make a change.

    Cheers

Coming along really nicely Geoff. Are you sure you can wait a few days to do the tunic?

More progress with an hour or so yesterday evening with base coats on the tunic and belts then some tones this morning.

I think I shall use Artist's oils on the cartridge crossbelt as I have done previously and I was pleased with the result.

    Many thanks Guys,

The colours I used were 2 thin coats of Vallejo ModelAir 028 Sand Yellow over the white primer with the shading of ModelColor 843/133 Cork Brown, then using MA 075 Sand diluted again just on the high points, again a couple of coats of that.

    Leather work progress to follow.
