Thank you for your support as always guys.
Ref scale & textures never quite sure if worth effort on these smaller scale.
Maybe not as ambitious as more fantastistory paint up others are doing.
    Still demanding, enjoyable learning exercise
    - how can it be done to do more effectively & efficiently?

Just started couple of other lads this week, both real characters
Perhaps add in progress shots with scale context here later.
    Let's see how it goes.

Superb painting Mike. I just picked up the Meng Rolls Royce Armoured Car kit last week and now I know where to get the figures to go with it. Thanks mate

Thanks Tony, there’s 11 figures & could be used as multipose for more variety.
Lanchester with Rolls Royce would be neat pairing too.

    Continuing on next pair.
Enjoying challenge of Brit battledress as always.
Curious - what value do you get from these Work In Progress shots?

Technique..we “paint” but often as though painting a living room wall...actual paint application for miniatures is very different..it’s expressionism wrought really small..and I can start in, get so far, then think it’s going crap..yet it’s just the process..so I see your wip, results and see more of how it can be done..and try to imagine such small pieces with so much character..

And I can better take in the pieces..when complete it’s harder to dissect

    Nope, only defrosted it Bob!
Totally understand this "...oh crap..." moment Hopper.
Personally I find this with every face, especially as I try to capture what's in my minds eye on the project in hand.
Everyone of my fellows has a name, this is a personality I'm trying to represent.
So to break through this moment, I remind myself to 'trust the process', keep working on until a smile or twinkle in eye appears :)
With that I can feel like I'm going in right direction.
Then the next challenge is to know when to stop!
Thanks for probing our thinking here.
    Make sense to anyone else?

Mike, I like the progress pic's too so that I can improve my painting and it helps breakdown the process you go through.
    Thanks for the pic's.
    BTW you have small pea's

Thanks Bob, glad you find them helpful - here's another closeup of the messy detail for you, Hopper & others.
Plus final shots of this latest pair.

Simply wonderful ...anybody else see a close resemblance to 'Bert' - oppo to Bruce Bairnsfather's 'Old Bill'

Thanks Fogie, know what you mean, see resemblance in this image :)
I was also thinking of Ginger, young Charley's cheeky mate in "Charley's War".

Ta! Joe, lots of fun with this pair.
Onto another project for a wee while, different era - WW2, with mainly cotton clothing.
Will be interesting to see how it turns out.
Trust all well in your part of world.

Mike, thanks for the work in progress and finished images. Stunning work. I would end up cross eyed. I admit I have copied the process you go through in painting clothing and have mixed results, some ended in the Dettol bath.

I recon if I wasn't asleep at the wheel I would have seen these earlier. Beautiful work Mike, beauty, and in 1/35th scale, ta boot!
