I was chatting to Alexandre from castle miniatures about picking up a miscast bust of his to do some experimenting on. Imagine my surprise when not one but three busts arrived in the post. Many, many thanks Alex, you’re an absolute star. 20BFFB46-80D6-446B-8563-944AEDED87BD.jpeg

Just goes to show that decent people exist throughout this hobby (heads up to David Lane as well).
Be interesting to see what you do with them Jim.
Looks like the classic Landsknecht won't need too much work and if I were you I'd be tempted to go with it as it is.
The Russial lends itself to a sort of steampunk interpretation and the 'nun' a Hand Maidens Tale interpretation.

Great ideas del, cheers! I'm thinking of emulating some artists of renown. Klimt maybe, or degas, Rothko might be a stretch but I'll see what I can do!

I can see how a Klimt could work very well. As you say though Rothko might be a bit of a stretch ;) . You could go all Kandinsky on the Russian. One of Pegaso's box art painters, Alexander Michelotti has done some really interesting work on different paint styles on stock figures.

Now kandinsky is certainly an idea, was also thinking of soviet propaganda posters for him, but they tend to be kinda monochrome. I'll have to have a look at Michelotti'so work.
