    Hi Guys,

A big thanks to Richard at Mookies Miniatures for supplying me with a copy of his Austrian pandour. This prompted me to start work on a companion piece, a Bosniak lancer, using a dolly, again supplied by Richard! Early days on the lancer, but progressing well, so far!!

Hi Kev - the pandour was ably sculpted by Brett Harte and Richard Pearce - I had no hand in this one! (y)

Some progress pics on the Bosniak Lancer officer. All work in my usual Miliput and Duro, scale 1/9.

    Thanks for looking(y)

    Hi Steve

Looking good ..what do you use if anything with the Milliput ...Vaseline ?

Are you adding the lacework as in the rear figure in the reference ?

Hi Kev - vaseline - not sure what you mean....??! Yes, the gaps in the fur are to allow me to add the loops and clasps and there will be more lacework on the tunic..(y)

No, just as it is and smooth with a brass tool and an old nylon brush and water. It works like clay (not plasticine), so Im used to it from my time in industry. Ive never had any problems with it....(y)

Took a gamble on the lace and did it anyway!! My own interpretation, using all of the references!! Duro, with solder and plastic strip(y)

    Hi Steve

Coming on nicely ..all options eh!! .....personally I think the sides should just have lace work with the centre having it down centre ......contrasting in styles ......just my dribble ..lol

I am intrigued why so many different things used , Duro, lead and plastic ...do you find all easy to put on .....particularly the collar ......

Looking forward to seeing this leaving being finished ...going to be a nice piece

    Thanks for sharing

Ive gone for the look on the old print - the officer in the background has lace on the red tunic and on the black coat. but Ive added some buttons and tassels to the ensemble!!

Now I need to go and work on a feather for the headdress and decide whether it may have had some kind of decoration or boss - all the pics only show one side!!!(y)

Almost done on these two, so will be ready for paint, soon. All mods in Miliput and Duro, with some lacework with solder and plastic rod. Scale, 1/9. I also need to fashion two matching plinths, so time to raid the offcuts bin..!!(y) SYW.jpg

cheers Kev! the green bit poking out of the side is a spare piece of Duro which will form the core for the plume, so I can add the outer texture to it.......;)

The flamme is made from the foil off the top of a catering tin of coffee, the edging is plastic strip, the tassel is Miliput over a picture wire core....(y)
