Thank you so much, Nap! PM sent.

I don't know if I'll post any of my art as I'm still not very confident with my skills but I'm certainly very glad to be here and to see the others' work.
This hobby is a fascinating one with such a large variety of figurines you would never find elsewhere if it wasn't for the hard work of this rather small world.

I'm sorry to hear that someone else recently is going through what I am going through with Ian. I still have not heard back from him after multiple attempted contacts via his website, new FB, and directly email. I'm not able to get a refund via PayPal because this has exceeded the 180 days from purchase. Well, that's a bummer. I have one last avenue I might try as I know a retired barrister from the UK and maybe he might be able to "scare up" something for me.

    Mick,

Can you provide his phone number and I'll try? Next, what is Trading Standards? I'm not familiar with that.

    Thank you.

Here is a copy of my earlier post.
    Hi Greg.
I am sorry yet another person is having to go through this mess. As Yellowcat has said try to get your money back via paypal or your charge card.
You could also try contacting West Yorkshire trading standards see link attached. http://www.wyjs.org.uk/trading-standards/contact-trading-standards/
    West Yorkshire Trading Standards,

Or you could try ringing him

Ask for chargeback with your card provider within 120 days (about 4 months) of when you paid or noticed the problem. You won't be able to ask if you noticed the problem more than 540 days (about 18 months) after you paid. My son got his money back from chargeback for an item he purchased over a year ago.
    Good Luck!

One sold on Ebay for £125 last week and and a second from the same vendor for £105. The one at £80 has been relisted having failed to sell last week.

Hmmm one vendor gets two yet some people didn't get what they were due. "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark"

Also the two that were sold by that particular vendor were both numbered 11/100. All seems a bit queer  !

    Hi all,

I've been following this thread with interest. I think it shameful that orders are still unmet - are theses new orders or some of the original backers?

I received my Dance of Death early last summer after reading the post in April. Martin64 and I collaborated and were considering this course of action:
    1. Informing Planet Figure community (several members have already done this)
    2. Informing the West Yorkshire constabulary
    3. Informing Leeds City Trading Standards officer (at that time I believe Ian Burton was an employee of Leeds City Council)
    4. Informing PayPal

We both were promised the model and there were delays such as being told "all was up in the air" due to the birth of his "beautiful granddaughter" (a birth which, according to Facebook, took place several weeks after the mail was sent). There is more that I shan't share here. The piece eventually came but with a bizarre request that asked Martin and I to confirm receipt despite it being a tracked parcel.

I also researched in PF archives and found many complaints about I & E, the venture before Ellies, and I've heard many grumbles and rumours.

I will never deal with Ellies or Ian Burton ever again and have stated this before. Ian Burton must still be wondering why I declined his request to be friends on Facebook, which I only joined last July (think of the timescales)!

I despise re-casting for the harm it causes our hobby but if this is happening in this case, whilst of no consolation to people waiting for their orders, there is something ironic about it.

    Cheers

Not only ironic, Huw, but maybe.....and I do NOT condone it in any way.....a little poetic justice. I'm reminded of a little nonsense verse from yonks ago,..." Bigger fleas have smaller fleas upon their backs to bite 'em. Smaller fleas have little fleas, and so on, ad infinitum "

I guess if its gone past the maximum claim time for paypal or credit card then there is nothing else that can be done from a financial point of view and Ellies had done one with your hard earned cash and he probably knows this himself and obviously does not care.

You can always go to the small claims court Fill out a form online Submit a fee It probably would not be a defended case and you get fees and your money back , if that doesn't work then get some butch debt collectors, he pays for them too
