Not sure whether this is the best place to post it, but I couldn't resist this multi-pose mannequin. I've been using those cheap wooden ones for years (mainly for drawing) and can never get a good pose, so thought this, with its 30+ articulated joints plus lots of extra hands and a few props (mainly a sword and shield: another version offers a laptop and guns), would be better.

First impressions are good: holds positions well, although it's a little lighter in build and size than I expected (stands 130mm: the ad vaguely states 13-15cm, so it's a little slighter than I'd hoped for 1/12th modelling) and although the 23 hand options are attractive, they're very fiddly to fit and I suspect may be problematic.

Had an initial play as shown below (inc a rather rude one: note a hand dropped off on one shot).

Just to clarify: got as a ref, not to use as an armature... though one could if £$ is no issue.

I got it here (others available both eBay and Amazon). Beware that there is also a cheaper version but he's got a rather hulk-like, body builder physique and fewer articulations. There are also female versions.

Hi Neil, I also bought one of these along with the female version.
I think it has potential and after a quick play created some possible poses for further sculpts. I liked the hands, good sculpting reference.
However, as you say it is a little light and I don't think it will survive too many body part transformations.
The female version is very Manga based and proportions are somewhat off.

    Hi Neil

That's an interesting idea ...If you decided to you it as a basis for a piece I presume you will secure into the position you want and then flesh it out ?

    Thanks for sharing

    Hi Nap,

I didn't buy it for that but, yes you could use it as an armature and have to fix the position and flesh it out. However, as both I and elan found out, the build is quite slight and boyish (as he says, it seems designed for Manga teenager types).

I got both the Male and Female version of these some time back and quite like them for an initial pose of the beginning of the sculpt. Care is needed as quite fragile and joints are a bit on the loose side but in comparison to the old wooden version a definite upgrade as more movement and dynamics in the pose can be achieved.
