WIP WW1 Lewis Gunner Bust

    Another one of those "must have's" for me, Young Miniatures 1/10th British Lewis Gunner bust from the latter part of WW1.

    I think the face is good and shows the stress these guys went thorough with his sore eyes and dark shadow under them, and this is what I tried to show with my painting

    This is a great looking bust Geoff and a great start, but I must say I don't think any soldier worth his salt would leave a life saving piece of equipment such as a gasmask swinging about so it could get snagged and ripped?..wouldn't that be tucked away safely in the bag ready for use?
    just going by my own experience with breathing apparatus, you always looked after your facemask.
    Just a point of interest that I felt needed to be said.

    Thanks Nap, this better after my doc changed my beta blocker after hosp. one upset my asthma, off to hosp today for a checkover and to see why their beta blocker upset me.

    Progress today... jacket and gas mask bag base coat painted in acrylics, leather jerkin and straps painted in Artist's oils with shadow and highlights blended.

    I shall now leave it it dry before doing any more.
