At last I get to see this kit all built up and finished. Lovely work John. I was having difficulty trying to visualise the RAF, figure element, but it now makes sense. A nice little rescue story.
You have done a great job with the driver figure, it’s exactly what I was looking for and matches in with my own visual interpretation. A nice touch with the ration box’s as well. There’s lots to look at and absorb. Clearly I will be swapping out bits and bobs, and adding others.

Thanks for posting these pics, they have certainly given me the impetus to get started.

Hi Ian, dregding up an old post of yours, you show pictures of a number of SAS figures, I wonder if you can say who the first picture is made by and the second, I can make out Dream Catcher but that is it. I am interested in these kits. Thanks

    Hi Rob,

The first figure was from a company called Armour Models, i've never seen another for sale since acquiring it about 6 years ago. The second i believe was originally from a company called Oakwood Studio's, their figure line was sold to James Welch of Dream Catcher.

Dream Catcher's figure line was later sold to Scott Meyer of The Lost Battalion so you could try asking him if its available yet, although the last time i looked on his site it wasn't offered..

    Happy hunting..

This is an old thread but in light of my news and the new kits available i thought i'd update it for posterity..

Anyway, i've finally tracked down a Frontline Miniatures SAS Jeep set, its a bit dated but i can now cross it off my 10 year old want list. :)(y)

For those interested SOL now produce several SAS Jeep variants as well as add-on kits to adorn the Takom kit that was recently released.

Got the Takom Jeep, just need the SOL kits now..

I just hope that when i get around to doing mine i do as good as job as the one the late John Bowery showed earlier in this thread.

I was unaware that John had passed away. He used to be a regular on here but come to think of it and now you mention it, I hadn't seen him around in a while. The OP of this thread "Tubby Nuts" Mark also sadly left us a couple or so years back. All very sad. The march of time and all that. RIP both.
