In this centenary year marking the end of the Great War.....Young Miniatures have released a fabulous British Lewis Gunner WW1......as always terrific detail and casting. The Lewis gun supplied with the figure is great but I hoped it would take a full size gun. So I ordered one from the excellent Reedees Minatures armoury range ...again great detail and casting...
I still have more work to do on the back of the jerkin and gas mask...
I had to alter the left arm slightly to accommodate the new gun... I also added a moustache to the face.... I have displayed the new figure with two i painted ages ago.
If you want to get inspired....track down the newly restored film footage by Peter Jackson...unbelievable......
    Thanks for looking....all the best

You'll do me mate, was hoping that someone would incorporate the complete Lewis Gun into this newly released bust, given that its a classic looking weapon, you've done it I now have the inspiration to get the bust, the gun and do the same.
In addition to that I also have the guy with the Trench shovel on my half finished bust bench so up and over lets get this project underway.
Thanks for showing these WW1 subjects, they look great together and a fitting commemorative piece.

Love the idea of the whole Lewis, but I hope you don't mind my slight criticism, I would have mounted him on a taller plinth as I don't think it works like this. I do hope your'e not offended by my comment but lovely work overall.

Very nice all 'round. Agree with the comment about a taller plinth. Also, the green color on the Lewis is new to me. I have seen mostly black/gunmetal, with a very few olive drab, and that was on a reenactor weapon. I think it stands out a bit too bright against the rest of the display. Just a nit, as I said, very nice.

Neat seeing this trio together & especially like seeing full Lewis gun included. On wanted list f'sure!
A question - maybe for Steve @ Reedees - Lewis barrel looks a bit squat - angle of photo perhaps?

A thought - seen evidence of gunners painting barrel jacket, form of camouflage(?).
This green looks similar to earlier helmet colours so could have been done by an enterprising #1 :)
    Thanks for sharing.
