A side project and maybe an addition to the in progress Swiss and French guard

The Montmorency dragoon wore the traditiinal dragoon green with crimson lapels , cuffs , long vertical pockets and white buttons.
I have used a spared torso from Modelles Et Allures from France, seating legs from a Miniwelt figure, horse as well, and spare head from JMD.

Working on the helmet,
Built the leopard turban first, added some texture and then added the top, i will sand it tomorrow to shape ot better.
I also added the side curls usimg brownstuff.

Now that the base of the turban has hardened, i added the crest of the helmet and worked on the lapels.

I have finish the crest base, the mane will be added tomorrow.
Added the side round star shape fasteners or whatever the name is lol.
Added the unfringed and fringe epaulettes and right arm resting on the hip, a very common pose especially for a snobby French Officer of the Ancien Regime.
I added the waist belt and lower edge of the vest and buttons on the lapels ( 7 each side).

Helmet it is done, added the right arm and will start building the tails of the coat next.

Great conversion work, those small changes really add up. Can't wait to see him painted!

I have swiap the right arm for another spare and better fitting .
Figure is primed .

I have finished the Crimson lapel using vallejo flat red , a dab of sclae 75 fuscia and a dab of violet.
For lights added Andrea French Orange, for shadows i have use the base color plus violet .

Started the leopard turban using vallejo iraqui sand as a base, german camo black/brown and vallejo earth.

Inspiring as usual.
