I can not work out why the Corporal is wearing a sash, you would have to sculpt a missing chevron to make him a sergeant, as only sergeants and above wore the sash. Apart from that its a lovely sculpt and beautifully painted.

Would I be correct in thinking that the chevrons should be on both arms ?

Only on one arm and that would be the Right arm Not the Left .
The chevrons were worn on both arms during the Napoleonic wars and up till about the 1820's.
Colour sergeants, on the other hand, wore the single stripe on the right arm and above that is the staff with the union flag with two crossed swords and on the left arm three stripes or chevrons.

This is an excellent sculpt and I love the cap badge casting for the base, there are just a few uniform issues that could be sorted out. I see the original sketch had him wearing a SNCO's double breasted jacket so that's why the sash I think, the lace of an OR's jacket got less wide as it came down the body. The chevrons should be on both arms for Highland Regiments, I'm not sure if anyone wore them on just the left? The feather bonnet looks a bit too tall.
Sorry for nit picking as the face is terrific and I like the relaxed pose, thirsty after a long dry march. The 93rd are one of the Regiments amalgamated to form my old Regiment, The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders so they're a bit of a passion of mine.
    good luck with this,
    Scotty.

    Dear friends,
thank you very much for your feedback. I am very happy you like the bust despite some mistakes. I realize that. I have to more focus on the historical background for my next project.
I have created a short preview video about this bust.
    Enjoy it.

It is not beyond the skill of a painter to add those bits of missing detail. The face is full of character and is superbly cast.
I wish you well with this project.
