I finished this the night before Reapercon and after the "Black Swan". So this was for a break. It is oil over acrylic as usual. I bought this and the base from a sale table at a show earlier in the month of July.
The base just cried out for water and Used two part epoxy enviro-tex for the water. I sealed the base first with gloss coat laquer where the water would go. Trapper01edt.jpg
Maureen wanted to have the Turkey Vulture on the tree.

The tree had roots added to the rocks that were added to make the mini waterfall.

The water does not have any blue on or in it so trhe blue is evidently a reflection from the sky or background.

    Enjoy and thanks for looking

Nice Job John! You handled the water very nicely and together with the unusual base/groundwork it makes for a very interesting and different creation.

    Well done sir,

That's a beauty John, the water effect sets it off. Nice painting on the figure too.

    Nice work.
I recommend that you do a wash with red and skintone mix into the eyesockets.
    They would less popup.

really great job John, i like it very much.
If I may : your water would need some 3d movement just by adding a little work with acrylic heavy gel
please take this as purely constructive, nothing else :)

Thanks Marc, they look worse in the photo's:ROFLMAO: but I will try that.

Franck, Thanks for your comment. I have some waves made with the water effects from woodland scenics but the effects are small and do not show well in the photo's I only wanted small movement to simulate a creek.

Thanks for looking and commenting. Keep it coming.
    Cheers

Very nice, John. Will we see this at Scale75USA next meeting? When it’s your turn to demo, you need to show us how to do that water.
