    Hello Olga,
Beautiful work, of the highest level like all the other figures painted by you.
I wanted to ask you a question about colors. Use tempera and acrylic mix them for some reason, or the tempera you need for effects used alone, thank you.:)

Thank you Maui, I used a tempera as it was a more familiar and available paint, then I began to add acrylic to expand the color palette. Now I prefer to paint with acrylic - it has a finer grinding and beautiful colors. I have no other reason to mix these colors.
    Best regards,

    Hi Olga,

I've been reading your previous WIP/SBS threads, and just like all the others I'm kind of speechless by your fantastic artistic talent!

You mention using (or at least at some point you used it, I see that apparently now you are using more acrylics instead) tempera paint.
I guess you mean traditional tempera paint? As you also said before that you weren't using oil tempera.

I just found this, regarding tempera paint, apparently it has been used for millennia! And many classic artist painters have used it in many famous artworks!

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tempera

The acrylics you use now, do they mix with water, or do you use some special acrylic thinner? Any favorite brand?

Thanks a lot. And keep up your fantastic work of art!

    Cheers!

Hello Dolf! Thank you very much for your kind words!

I use the tempera of the Russian manufacturer Nevskaya Palitra
    http://www.nevskayapalitra.ru/eng/production/tempera/

"Artistic polyvinylacetate tempera paints are made of the high quality organic and inorganic pigments and polyvinylacetate dispersion. Artistic tempera paints are the traditional material for painting, and also for decorative and design works. Paints are easily applied to paper, cardboard, wood or canvas. After drying this type of colors forms up an elastic, non-transparent and indelible coating.
You can make the clear brush marks or thin graphical touches of the painting using tempera water diluted paints.
However, the artist should have the specific skills in using these paints, because there could be difference in tone after drying.
Our paints guarantee the long life for your works!"

Yes, I now use acrylic more often than tempera, I use acrylic Polycolor from the Italian manufacturer MAIMERI . I mix acrylic with water, I don't use a special acrylic thinner.

    Best regards,
    Olga

    Hi Olga,

Thank you very much for your detailed response and the links (y)

Found the site of that Italian manufacturer, Maimeri. They seem to have a large choice of paints and other stuff.
Also checked the site o the Russian manufacturer, Nevskaya Palitra, lots of interesting and useful stuff as well.

Again many thanks and keep up the great work!

    Best wishes,
