Fantastická, jemná a čistá práce, perfektní obličej (jako živý) vynikající detaily, jedním slovem - dechberoucí! Fakt se mi to hodně líbí.

Thank you Bob and Borek. This bust has a dramatic story. When I sent her to the UK she lost her in Royal mail post and almost a month was missing. It became a miracle and the package finally arrived. Both me and Gordon were happy. It would be a great shame if this bust did not get to the fans of this great pilot and the legendary flyer who could be the first flight of Atlantic.

No to teda!!! To je drsný, a je super, že to mělo dobrý konec. Je to opravdu krásnej kousek, a bylo by jí hodně velká škoda!

Well it then !!! That's rough, and it's great to have a good end. It is really a beautiful piece, and it would be a great shame!

    Cheers Borek

It’s an especially interesting subject..works as truly balls to the wall war hero...he had to be lifted into his plane he was so battered by injuries and wounds...was devastated to accidentally shoot down an allied plane that mistook him for German...then post war, his Atlantic attempt or success was during a period of air exploration that brought air mail, passenger serivice, connection of places such as Australia to the rest of the world ...the bust captures it so well.

Marvellous looking bust. I'm sure this will sell well at Sevres - shame I can't go.

Please do not be angry - I'll do some advertising for my hometown ...:

The first Atlantic crossing from east to west (more difficult than vice versa, because against the prevailing wind direction) succeeded only on April 12, 1928 the pilot Hermann Köhl and the Irish copilot James Fitzmaurice with their Junkers W 33 "Bremen"!

In 1998, on the initiative of Bremen's mayor Henning Scherff, the meanwhile battered plane was brought from the USA back to Bremen ...

... and in the Bremen "Airbus"-Plant of former employees of "Junkers" elaborately restored ...:

Today the "Bremen" is exhibited in the airport building of my hometown ...:

Why would anyone be angry? The flight was far tougher, faced weather delays..and the Irish co pilot was a navigator brought in after the plans had been fraught by weather..Baron Von Hunefeld ..can’t recall the spelling Martin..was wealthy junker was on the plane I think...

It’s a cool period..art deco imagining speed...in art, vorticism, in the air..air racing, passenger planes of rudimentary sort..consistently people dying in crashes..and daily innovation.

The photos are wonderful..it’s fortunate that around the world people are saving these pieces of history
