My latest project is the Crecy Models 54mm ECW Ironside. It was a birthday present from my wife and purchased from El Greco who dealt with the order and posted it very promptly as is their usual practice. (y)

Primed with Vallejo black primer which was airbrushed on. Following some careful masking the cuirass was airbrushed with Mr Hobby H18 Steel.

Same routine for the head and lobster tailed pot.

    Cheers Steve.
I'll just throw this in by Rick Scollins to get us in the mood.

Great pic, Roger - Rick Scollins was the master of ECW illustration, IMO - truly atmospheric!

I thought I'd better try and make it clear in case anyone thought it was a 70's tv detective in a heavily weathered wheelchair. :D

    Here's a critique for you.
It's the wrong colour and there are two rivets missing from the breastplate.
I know we thought when we were kids that everything from the past was black and white but I have to say this simply is not good enough.
You're using the wrong type of brush and the wrong paints and you have put the paint on way to thick.

Quite frankly if things don't improve quickly I will have no choice but to inform your parents of the fact that with your poor attitude to figure painting that you will get nowhere in life and that you will have to stay behind and get to grips with your attitude or it will be the cane for you my boy.
If there is still no improvement the only choice for you in this life will be to go to sea and hope that the ships rock some sense into you.
    Yours sincerely.
    Headmaster Ralph.

Unfortunately none of that is true, she gave me the money to get what I wanted. But I still consider myself lucky. :)
