An old friend's son was ensign at last year's Trooping the Colour:

I have already done GSM Mott and a Scots Guards corporal:

The former has been a steady success but the latter a disappointment.

I was going to do the Ensign, probably with belt but holding a drawn sword rather than the Colour (i.e.Ensign for, not to, the Colour), but am now undecided whether or not to go ahead:

I have got so far (held together with Bluetac), and have to decide whether to bin it, or complete the figure for Gordon to cast. He already has a 200mm Royal Marine corporal of mine to fit in but his Roll Call and Hougement ranges have kept him very busy!!

    Advice please.

    Mike

P.S. apologies for the dreadful photography.

You cant leave a Coldstreamer half done,
    So Finish him.
Then get on with the Irish Guard and leave the Grenadier till last (rightful position :D )

    Hi Mike

My thoughts are it would be better as an ensign to the colour the carried colour would be a great bit of interest

    Keep at it

Agreed, but painting Colours is as likely to put modellers off buying the figure as not, and the figure has to be a (limited) commercial viability in order for Gordon to mould and cast it in the first place. Hence my hesitation in proceding.

    Hi Mike,
Looks nice Love the Bearskin you have that down to a T for an officer.
Looking at the Pictures Not sure about the Boots. Officers on Parade Dont wear Hob Nails to harsh on their delicate feet :D
For parade they tend to wear these with or without hooks attached to the heel.
