    Hi Chaps,
It has been a while since I last posted any of my stuff but I have still been moving all manner of materials around. I have three sculpts on the go at the moment, two military and one sports.
I would like to share this fellow with you that has taken a long while getting this far and even so has a good way to go. Work on the face hands and brodric being the most evident.
The hope is that He will be a Drum Major of the Coldstream Guards in state dress during the Reign of Queen Victoria.
I hope that you can see what I am aiming for here.
    All the very best

    Keith

    Cheers Bob,
I am pleased that you like him Bob.
I am not looking forward to the gold lace as much as you are Mate :(.
I plan to use NMM on the lace but I think the brass parts will benefit from metallic gold and silver. What say you?
My theory is that with so much gold going on it will be the easiest way to lift the mace etc above the coat.
    All the best
    Keith

    Many thanks Roger.
You would not believe some of the stuff I used for the lace etc. My best blag was vacuum food packaging from a Polish store in the far north of Holland. It's all fair game. The ribs on it were just right if you cut it a 45 degrees..
    All the best Mate
    Keith

    Cheers Mick
Very pleased you like it thus far Mate
Give or take two or three fag papers it is 200 mm.
The core of the whole figure is DAS air dry clay finished with Milliput for the head and details. His staff is turned metal with soldered battlel honers and Milliput crown and Garter Star.

Keith, I would go with the gold and silver on the brass work, it will lift it. I am sure you will do a good job.

Glad you think so Bob. Being a parade figure, albeit before the spit and polish days, I agree with you on lifting the whole figure .
Thanks for your thoughts on the matter, I will go with it.

Great to see what you have been up to ....

And what a result ..you clever lad and what a big boy he is as well ......no medals ?

It all looks good but the face and the mace, sash are excellent

    Based on any picture ?

Going to look great with paint on it

    Following with interest

You are too kind, thank you.
The medals, originally there were two of standard disc design but I had no idea what they may be for. So I thought that Kevin's first line will be "what no medals" to what my reply would be "well young fellow me' lad what might they be". Do you get my drift my bestist friend?
As for pictures, The end result is a mishmash of several photos from around the the late 19th Century to the start of the first war.
Thanks again and enjoy these few pictures,
    Keith

    Hi Keith

Oooooohhhh !!! ...you know me too well !

I would suggest going for a date ( of the drum major not me and you ...lol ) and going from there

The Welsh Guards is intriguing ..it looks like the WW1 star but can't see the ribbons would have thought there would be all 3 WW1 medals .........I see the cutting date is 1921 ....

    ...great moustache as well !

But its a Coldstream so ..........are you going for a specific person or an overall look ?
