I am starting the work on the shoulder belt with the Duc de Orleans livery lace, still need to gomat if and fix areas.
I glued the head of the officer and finished the lapels on the regemtal dark pink serge as the regulation of 1779 mentioned... 20170519_233505.jpg 20170519_233529.jpg 20170519_233529.jpg

I decided to take the challence on making the guidon , eitther that or spending money and time to find thebexact guidon, so adding more challenge to the taslk ....
I've use a lead sheet i had on my box of supplies for a while, cut it into the shape and measure the size to go accordingly with the size of the figure.
I will add the fringe around the guidon with green stuff.. 20170520_173839.jpg

Meanwhile, i fixed the Orleans livery shoulder band and added the fringe on the officer's epaulette.
A distinguish feature of guidon bearers was that the fringes on their epaulettes wore in the facing color, so it will be dark pink for Orleans. 20170520_150732.jpg

I have primed the guidon and painted the base color with vallejo flat red, then added scale 75 red in to bring the color to life.
I've painted the king's cypher which includes the whit bar with 3 flaps symbolizing the duc de Orleans closedness to the Royal House, the laurels were painted with scale 75 forest green.
Still need to add the Fleur-de-Lys on the guidon.... 20170521_172223.jpg 20170521_212809.jpg 20170521_223937.jpg

    Great work Daniel.
    Love the uniform colour.
I have a Lancer de Berg 1812 that I did some 30 years ago that used similar colours. Super colours to paint with.
Looking forward to the finished standard bearer.
As always superb work My Friend.

Why did I only like previous posts ........

it's ...probably because my jaw was being picked up from the work here !

The officer looks great and again so much detail and information ( like the epaulette ) and as for the guidon ....

Just really skilled work from the shape to the fringes , cords and now the painting of it as well .....

The whole piece is another fine bit of work ..looking forward to seeing him mounted up

Thanks Keith, it is a nice uniform indeed, there are so many good uniforms to paint !.
As for the guidon, i am having a blast at painting the details, i hope i can do a decent job and it looks a credible guidon when finished.
    Cheers

Thanks Kev, i am very happy with the tails on the uniform.
To me, the most important items on the look of the coat is the collar and turnbacks, and i feel like i have achieve the look i like with these...

I've finished the coat, finished the turnbacks and painted the turnbacks badges( fleur-de-Lys ) on one tail and grenade badge on the inner tails.
I have also finished the shoulder band with the Orleans livery... 20170524_202830.jpg 20170524_202841.jpg
