Moving on from the Quartermaster section I am now starting on the zillions :D of
Accessories. I am debating adding a Buxum bartender girl. I think it would add humour and interest.

    Small table/bench.

Storage cabinet and beer barrel small
    tavern32edt.jpg

Plates and mugs are burnished and treated with a wash of Gunze Sangyo smoke to seal them and black ink for seams and shade. The beer mug has foam in one and empty in the other. The foam is Clear Gorilla glue activated with water. Be careful as the glue will expand up to 4 times once activated. Maybe I should have let it spill over:LOL: The plates will go on the shelves?

Barrels boxes and treasure chest. I did not want the wood to all be the same colour. So I used these for trial and error. I used Bob Letterman's method to paint the wood. His method uses a base coat of Flesh and then oils that are drybrushed off after a short period of time. Then a coat of Semi gloss was airbrushed on.
The small box has a lid and I did not put a coat of semi-gloss on this box as I thought it could be a packing crate and would not be varnished. Just another type of wood.

The rust was a new product for me that I have been looking for for years and finally found it accidentally last year at a model show. It is "Delux Materials " Scenic rust. A three phase product that I used on the water bucket

    tavern35edt.jpg

.The treasure chest. Looks like it needs a clean up around the brass tacks?

    tavern39edt.jpg

    The shelf unit.
    tavern36edt.jpg

Base coat on the base unit. Flesh on the beams and Buff on the stucco.
    tavern37edt.jpg
    The bar sides.
    tavern38edt.jpg
    Bar top and large barrel.

The treasure chest goes on top of the large barrel and then everything should fit so the Quartermaster's left elbow is resting on the chest.???

I am thinking of adding this figure (modified) to the back of the bar and looking through at the fellows antics? Extending the blouse, cutting off the tools and tool belts and turning the head and lifting it up??????? The right arm will also need to be modified.

This is where I am at today.
All comments are encouraged and welcome.
I feel I am on the downhill run on this? and then I wanted to add the girl? Maureen agrees with me so we must both be nuts.:wideyed::p
Cheers and thanks for taking the time to look.
Thanks also to all of the planeteers for all the help that you have given me over the years I have been here.

That's great , love the base work

As for the young lady I am with Keith , like the pose .... will you change the head position depending in relation to the other figures ?

    Lose the spanner ..lol

Me and Keith now both need to lie down in a dark room at the thought of this buxom lady ...lol

    Thanks for sharing

John each wee bit you paint looks exactly as it should, adding the barmaid will bring more customers into the Black Swan and thus more ale will be drunk, what about a doorman to deal with the trouble lol.

I know very little about Taverns;) but this is looking really good. All the wood looks worn but well scrubbed as you'd expect.
As to a buxom girl.... there is absolutely NOTHING......that doesn't benefit from such an addition.
Will be watching with great interest.

Yes I plan on changing the head to look up instead of sideways depending on the final positions of the figures and girl. I"ll turn the light on for you lol:D
    Thanks for the great comment.

Looks great and I think it is a very good idea with the "girl". But I fear that the tongs are a little bit to great for that "small" beer barrel ;):(:D

Update, but do not know how to change heading???

    tavern40edt.jpg

The bar is only placed and not glued at this time. I added to the sculpted rubble from the wall so that it does not look like it is sculpted???:D The underside of the beams have a couple of holes for the hooks to hang lamps etc. from so that I have a couple of choices.

    tavern44edt.jpg

The top will get pushed in when I glue it in place. The shine is because the top has a full gloss finish and the sides are only a semi gloss.
    tavern41edt.jpg

    The large barrel is completed.
    tavern42edt.jpg

Various pottery wine bottles coloured similar to 17 century ones. Cork will be added to the tops and a semigloss applied for the finish.

    tavern43edt.jpg

More pots and pans of pewter or pottery. The plates pattern was also taken loosely from a 17 century museum photo. The patterns were very primitive compered to the chinese type plates.
This is the progress so far and Rats have been ordered and will find a place in the tavern. I have Fix it Sam from scale 75 which I will convert to a barmaid wench????:):p
The frying pan will hang on the backside of the bar from the beam? I drilled out the hole ready.
Any comments and encouraged and accepted. It is still a work in progress.
    Thanks for looking.
    Cheers

It was a real treat to listen to the story of the Black Swan from you and your lovely wife at the Tulsa show, John. Absolutely fascinating. Great work too!
