That is a rather grand Grenadier you have here Gra,
I like the idea of the gauntlets tucked into the sword knot.

    Good luck with him
    All the best Mick

Oh man! Given the recent spate of new offerings, I was wondering if someone might do a Grenadier a Cheval figure. This one is great.

Lovely figure and a French heavy who's not a cuirassier.
Seeing this has reminded me of something I wanted to ask. These big-booted fellows wear some sort of knee gaiter over the breeches and under the boot.Does anyone have a description or picture of these sans boots?
    Jon

Or a carabinier... these were to protect the breeches from rubbing against the knee cuff of the boot and normally attached by two buttons on the outside of each leg. For heavy cavalry Rousselot describes the breeches as knee length. For dragoons Rousselot describes them as full length ans stats that the buttons were to hold up the boots... I need to research this a bit more i I find time but in my Ecyclopedia of French Napoleonic Uniforms there might be a pciture. I use a real life example as the basis for my models:

A very nice figure as always from Moz. I have the Mike Blank figure in My GGA so maybe with a little reworking he could join the Carabiniers. Trumpet banner may be a bit of a challenge, but a little research should solve that question.

Just one question, does Moz ever sleep?

Anyway, this is a really good release, a long overdue portrayal of one of my favourite uniforms. Well done all.

Here's the best diagram I could find as to how knee cuffs were fitted. Below the knee I recall that long woollen socks were worn but can't find the picture for the life of me.

    Cheers
