I have started both project together which is unusual for me.


This is everything in the box plus some extras from O'Llanaise.
I sanded the bottom of the floor to ensure that it was flat. I am cleaning the pieces as I go and washing them with dishwash detergent.


The base is 6' by 7' and 1.5 inches deep, not including the black base. This was custom made by 'The Hussar" in Oklahoma City OK.



I have glued the tavern floor on the base with the white Gorilla glue for strength and to save my 2 part epoxy????????????? I had to buy the Gorilla glue????? I used it for beer foam on a beer stein for the scene.!!!!!!!! So $8.00 for the beer foam
I added and glued the rear wall and made sure that the wall was perpendicular to the floor with a square? This was mistake No 1. When I added the support post I found out that the wall should lean in a little at the top so that the post would touch the floor. I had used the two part epoxy for this and as it was still a little soft I could squeeze the wall into position. IPMS will probably knock points off for the wall not being completely square to the base.

I used the clamps to hold the roof together and clamped a square to the post so it was perpendicular to the floor and a large rubber band to hold the post to the floor. I do not own a bigger clamp.

The quarter master is primed .


The photo is shiny as the oil paint is still wet as I have just finished this bit when I took the photo.
The flash as lightened the colour as it is a little darker in real life.

Update No.1
Working on the quarter master.





The jacket colour is based on the powell book. 275 colour No.

8 white/2 Cadmium orange/1 permanent green light.
The gun barrel was drilled out and the jacket has more work to go.



These are the colours for the blue and red and the hat colour in warm grey and also the white shirt.
The blue has some green in ittogive a green hue. Hence the blue/green shade.Everything needs to be lined and the arms are at the same stage. I used Burnt sienna for the lining of the jacket as I thought that would look better for the leather look. Lots of tidying up to do and I noticed some over paint on the bottom of the shirt by the gun.

There will be a total of three figures on the base. It would be nice if I could find a barmaid???? The feet placement are already set in the floor by Romeo when they designed the scene.
