    He's very nice Kev.
The green facings put a very different complexion on the piece.
    Good work,

Ooops got the wrong facings for the single lace grouping....

misread my reference "Crimean Uniforms" by Michael Barthorp

Thanks to Mick who kindly sent me this ...it's what PF is all about

    Greetings
Now I have just read what wings said about how nice the green facings set things off.
Well this bit of news might set you off.
To cut a long story short. I dont think there was a regiment at the crimea with Green facings and square end single buttons.
    For Sq end Single
    Blue 7th. Buff 31st. Yellow 44th & 77th. Sky Blue 97th

Will be changing colour in morning ..not sure which yet!..need to have a look at the colours

STOP PRESS was going to go for the Sky Blue but too many clasps on his medal! so it's Yellow !

That is looking very nice Kevin.
Pity about the green ... the finish looked perfect.

    Cheers,

    Hi Andrew

Thanks for the comment , he now has yellow facings and I have added a loose part of an epaulette to go with the loose button on his right shoulder ......

It's so close to finishing ...yet so far .....a couple more sessions I reckon

    Thanks for looking in

    Hi Nap

Great progress so far! It should be interesting to see how the color change on the facings affects the rest of the piece compared to the green (which, by the way, I thought looked really nice)...

    Regards,
    Phil

    Hi Phil

Good to have you look in , yes a shame about the green but it wasn't accurate with the Crimean medal and the lace style ..teach me to read better..lol

The yellow certainly changes it but looks good I think ..dirty as the rest of the uniform is !

I will try and post pictures when I have painted the epaulette later

    Happy painting

He looks really super Nap, I must say the green set him off better but I suppose you have to be correct.

I do agree Jim. Do you think we could talk him into changing the lace to Sq end 2. or bastion single.then they could be green.
    Just a thought.
Light blue touch paper and retire.

Very good modifications Kev. The yellow looks great.
I did try to find a green facings regiment in the Crimea with single buttons........you can have any one but not both it would appear.
He is coming on a treat.
