Thanks Chris, way too kind mate & very humbling.
Some how the large scale images help with my painting effects as it's hard to see this in the actual size busts.

Hi SuperAnto, good to hear these photos are appreciated. Thank you :)
Have begun number 3 today & he's shaping up to be my favourite so will be interesting to hear what others think.

Thank you Tony, am grateful for the kind comments.

    It makes me reflect further...
Still not sure about my large photos, as they do distort the overall scale.
Not always sure the level of detail can be noticed when seen in the flesh.
Interesting with photos how they control & capture light.
Poor lighting can spoil a figure's impression too.
Personal thoughts - what do others think?

When your painting style is almost 'pore by pore' and 'thread by thread', it's small wonder that it becomes instantly recognisable.
The realism that you manage to achieve is outstanding.

    Cheers,

I suppose as we strive to become an artist each of us wonder if our art is unique.
    It says "I painted this".
Because of all the experimenting I do when painting I'm never quite sure how much this changes 'my style'.
    Hmmm...

A quick shot on iPhone to show progress.
Am finally enjoying this after a couple of frustrating misfires.

Mike. My mouth always opens when I see your work. Hopefully I won't start dribbling!!!!? I'm looking forward to seeing something 'in the flesh' when I see the ladies that you did for Darren.

Thanks Borek & Scottie, still a fair bit to do on the face & good to get into this project.
Glad he's looking OK Andy, really like attitude of this fellow.
Pipe should add a nice touch, though without a ciggie would work just as well.

The "little ladies" are indeed tiny, beautiful sculpts by Benoit.
Ensure you have good light when looking at them because some of my painting can be too subtle for its own good - trying to improve this.
    Thanks for commenting. - Mike

If I hadn't seen the earlier photo Mike, I would have thought the chinstrap was real leather. I have run out of superlatives to describe your painting - simply outstanding and the realism is unbelievable. Changing hankies as I write.

I haven't seen the colour patch previously. What does it signify?

    Chris
