    Hi Guys

    Verbal update

    Tunic all done ,

    Kilmarnock dicing all done

    Ribbons done ..medals to do!!!

    Lacing to highlight , buttons , belts etc to do

    There is "at present" the regts tartan behind the badge ...what do you guys reckon ...too much, too busy or too close in the sett ?

    Using this approach to paint the 8mm area !

    I know the green is a little light Mr Peedee ...lol

    Also the pom-poms is green ..at the moment ...it was suggested it was Red for all company's at this time ?

    Looking at the reference colourised picture it looks distinctly a single colour or it could have been coloured wrong !!!??..Oh Heavens !!

    wasn't happy with the tartan just looked too busy so based on tge close ups of the original ...backing will be green with crown and bugle horn on it ....

    Tourie ..still green ...contemplating going red!!

    Mate you are in a right pickle.
    I always thought that the tartan backing was made from the same set as the trews and kilt but the square was cut on the diagonal.
    So you could paint the cross of the set with just the non intersections lines showing.
    I will try to find something to support my thinking.

    This looks complex but it is because there are two pieces of cloth. The back cloth is upright and the front cloth is on the diagonal.
    I hope that this is of some use.

    Looking good mate, what's the yellow medal? I think your right about the tourie (pompom) the use of different coloured hackles for the companies had finished in the 1830's i think, so touries were probably the same. The tartan patch set wouldn't have shown so much of the pattern at that size I don't think and it does look a solid colour. All the best,

    Thanks for looking in and comments the yellow medal ( it has green edging but my pic doesn't show it well) is the French medal militaire here's a couple of pics all Reginald to the period and issued to British soldiers

    As for the backing latch , think I might have it as green ( sorry Keith couldn't find that budgie ...and thanks for info mate ) a reference to the Lt Coy roll .... and it does look a solid colour in the picture .

    He should be finished in the next day or so !

    After an early morning session virtually all finished just need to confirm everything , put the nameplate on and take proper pictures and post those .

    No more beards for me ..for a whike !!

    Pleased with the 3 versions , they look good together

    iPad piccys again but you should get the general idea !

    Thanks for commenting for some reason the flesh looks nothing like that !!!, uniform colour is a bit brighter as well !!! ...ipad pics!!!!...will do better pics and also put the 3 together for you
