    Hi Guys

Inbetween playing Christmas tunes and singing joyfully here's a couple of update pics

Tunic and sash complete , medal ribbon , union flag on badge , belt , white edging , numbers ...dicing (!!..lol) , plume

    To do ...

Finish rank badge ,medal and clasps buttons, belt buckle ,bonnet , ribbons at back ...final confirmation and that's it!

The darker area around the rank badges is the material they were sewn to (stitches are there!)

Oh and fit and paint the pipe !

    Thanks for looking in

I don't know why that last one came up again, I turned it upside down to show how you can alter the size at the back a little. The ribbon (which should be ironed flat! Sorry) covers the gap when worn. In the old days the ribbon ran through the headband and was tied in a bow to size it. I hope this is useful at some point.

Far be it from me to advise you on painting mate but maybe washes of black tones and dry brush highlights? Somebody did the Black Watch bust from 1900 which I thought was exceptional, maybe they should be tracked down and forced to do a tutorial.

Hi Nap, nice work on this with the conversion and painting. When I did my DFG bust I panted the bonnet with a dark blue acrylic before using the oils lamp black for the shadows and used paynes grey and flesh tint for highlighting.
