Wow, incredible painting. So realistic it looks like you should be able to see Mike's camera reflection in the eye.;)(y)(y)

Mike, I'd have to say when I first saw the release of these busts I wasn't that excited by them, but man have you brought them alive, so realistic that you've captured the mood...........magic.

Thanks Bob, Facebook tends to compress images so you do not always get full effect of detail.
Glad you'll be able to stay warm during summer :)
Thanks Les, never one to judge a bust by its boxart ;-)
I was always keen on these busts when I saw quality of Antonio's sculpting.
Plus they are readily converted to give a different look & feel.
Nice to get your feedback Marc - thank you!
Again Facebook doesn't always present photos in way you want to get feel for subject.
With this in mind here's another photo of the "boring bit" - the back.
I hope it gives a feel for attempts at an authentic feel for this young soldier.

    Stay safe,
    Mike

    jaw droppingly fantastic.:wideyed:.
i have had to look at the pictures again to make sure they are the miniatures and not photos of real people, cannot wait to read the article in the mag.

You must be the most realistic painter on the planet (and I don't mean this forum!) Paitience, passion and an awful lot of skill!!

    Thanks for commenting Andy.

I've been meaning to ask is that Avatar really you with pegs on their face?
Now that would take patience & a high pain threshold! ;-)

Sadly it is me with 72 pegs on my face. (I haven't done it for over 1years.) It's a party game that I'm good at and it does hurt a lot!! I do have a high pain threshold. The Guinness world record holder for this can stretch his skin from his neck up to his nose, so I have no chance!

Somehow I wrote 1 year when it should have been 10 years - so I don't do it very often, I'm not that special! The sad thing about that photo is that after my friend took the photo he somehow deleted it, so asked me to peg up again and this is a 2nd photo!! Now I think that we should get back to your superb busts.....

Where on Facebook were the photos? Terrific work Mike, did you say you were doing some sort of tutorial somewhere? Or did I dream that?
