WIP Sepoy 61st Bengal Native Infantry Regt

    Hi Guys

    Bit of an update


    Tunic colour all finished , face done , hair now done since the picture

    working on the cap now , numbers will be a brass colour !!!

    Then its the lacework and the cross belts ....

    Not the best of pics forgot the front and back so that is an ipad special !!!

    It's on track for Bugle Call !

    Hi Kev - this one's looking good! Just a thought, but I think the rank chevrons were just plain white tape, but of course, I could be wrong..!!

    Good workmate......It's what I'm using right now....a Black and Decker Workmate....I'd thoroughly recommend them.

    Steve ..it's just a base coat easily changed ..if you have any reference can you post found these after a quick loo in my stuff!

    Found a print showing black expense pouch as well ..an interesting version perhaps ?

    Paul that workmate does it hold much paint..lol ? ..enjoy Telford mate

    I cant find a specific example, but Im basing it on the other infantry uniforms worn in India. The BNI tunics were locally made from thinner cloth and very simplified, as per the lace on the button holes.... (y)

    As you say the uniforms of BNI ie the lace were much simplified

    Just looked again I based mine on the British infantry ..but painted them opposite for some reason !! ..if anything the backing should be the facing colour and stripes white ...silly sausage I am ! .....

    Looking at the last picture above tgecSgt stripes are made up if 2 parts to each strip so will use paint to hopefully achieve this ...and I will add stitching around the backing edge as well

    The hair and cap are now done ! ...

    Facing colour and lace work next including those stripes !

    Been working a lot on this

    Head, lace all finished , facings etc all done, waist belt , waist buckle and crossbelt plate all done , uniform is not as bright !!! , working on the crossbelts at the moment..more to do!!!

    Need to relook at the small pouch

    Then its confirmation of the edges between the jacket and the equipment

    Then buttons , weapon and sling , his shirt cuff on the hand which is also done
