having completed the bust of Doc Holiday from the movie Tombstone,i have now started to work on the tree back drop, the leaves have just booe coated in an off green colour (not the final colour),I have added the brass frets to the branches and added some woodfiller to resemble the stems and small branches.
This is only the first stage,i plan to have a second sitting and paint the tree and the branches with leaves and blend the whole thing together,i temporary put the tree against the bust to get a feel for the finished piece and i'm very happy to where i'm at at present, this was the vision I had in my head at the start.

Very nice work Smudge. As you are probably aware from my avatar I'm a Wyatt Earp nut myself. You've made a very unique styled bust of Wyatts best bud there and I look forward to seeing how it all turns out. Nice one mate.

I love your idea and it looks great, it will be quiet a piece. Can't wait to see it finished. Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday is one of my western heroes.

Man, is that cool or what!

You're going to earn yourself a moniker if you keep this up. Something like the "scene man", or, I know,....."backdrop Brian" :D!

Joking aside, I truly enjoy viewing the creative manner in which you display these busts (y)!

beautiful presentation of a bust ..

I think if you try to bend slightly the leaves the final effect will be better
