I have looked at the Mini Art Company products for some time but on their release of 120mm mounted figures I looked a little closer. Currently they have four mounted pieces that use the same standard standing horse with some small variations in head and neck etc.
I have been researching a British Cavalry Sergeant in India and thought that a look at these competitively priced pieces. could be worth while.
Following discussions with pF’s Ron Tamburrini the chosen pose for the nag was to be at the trot. With extensive use of the razor saw and a pack of Milliput Standard this is what I came up with.

I am interested to hear what you think.
    All the very best
    Keith.

That's looking good Keith, these kits are great you could do so much with them. I have had a project in mind for a long time (so many projects, so little time!). I'll watch how you get on. Thanks.

Very nice conversion! I've used these horses for conversions also. The only problems I ever had is the weakness of their plastic legs when I put a rider, saddle and equipment made of MS and Kneadatite on them. Not to difficult to reinforce the legs with brass rod or something like that.

    All the best,

    Dan

    Cheers for your comments Mate.
The larger parts need a bit of attention but the detail is in the casting is worth the clamps and tape.
Like you Scotty my many ideas far outweigh my ability to churn out the finished projects. It's the painting that slows me down.

I know exactly where you are coming from. My attempt ro overcome this, as I have only two legs on the floor, is to fill the leg with Araldite throug the hole tha will hold the fixing pin will go. Additionally I have a hole in the saddle where I can do the same process.
Fingers crossed this will do the job.
    Cheers Dan,

Do you use the glue or 2 part epoxy?

I'd be concerned about using any 2 part glue, epoxy or adhesive that produces heat when mixed. Heat and plastic don't play well.
    All the best,
    Dan

It was a heavy flexible glue Dan some but very little heat.

It was a fine base to work from, saving a lot of work and Milliput.
