A tremendous idea. As far as I know, this hasn't been done before.

Great idea. A cockpit section of image 7 including the machine gun and the figure leaning out to drop the bomb. To my mind this would create a nice tight composition including the pilot interacting with the 'bomber' to interest figure, aircraft and WWI enthusiasts.(y)

Intriguing! I think it would work, and work well! Incorporating both the crew, the machine guns AND a bomb or 2 would be great!

    Hugo,
Agree regarding Brunhilde (image 7). Bring it on !!!! But first Bader and the Spitfire cockpit.............as an ex propeller-head turned figure man, its the best of both worlds.

    Hi Hugo

Great idea, there are so many WW1 planes with fantastic engineering to consider for this even though it would only be a section of the fuselage. We are seeing some great pilot bust from WW1 and later but none in the context of the aircraft so this would be very very interesting!

    Cheers

Terrific idea! I think both #s 4 and 7 would work very well. What scale are you thinking about? If you stick with typical aircraft model scales or even the smaller figure scales, I don't know if this would work as well as a large scale like 1/10th or 1/12th or 1/16th. Larger scale engine, machine guns, some nice facial features and cockpit equipment - cool!

I'm sure you'll be just as successful with this imaginative concept as some of your past projects.

    All the best,

This is a great idea like the Brunhilde one especially

They even loaded up with Grenades as well ( cheers to Rob Lane for pictures) as in Brunhilde ...

Wonder what the ones going across the fuselage ? ...darts or droplets maybe ?

Also with cameras on recon flights ...either way very dangerous !

    Hi Hugo!!!
    Great news for WWI modellers.......:woot:!
It is a brilliant idea and I would like to see more similar things!
The next project could be the training of WWI aircraft gunners that I am trying to build for a while....

I think this is a great idea!

May I suggest that the bust include only the guy dropping the bomb? I'm a bit concerned that two busts will increase the price of the set and decrease sales a bit. Or, produce two versions -- one with the pilot and one without.

As with everyone else Hugo I think this is a great idea that will go down very wel (y)(y)(y). Personally the picture I like best is the forth one down.
If you want sources of information on British aircraft , the best places to contact would be the Royal Ai8r Force Museum at Hendon and the Shuttleworth Collection.
    Best wishes, Gary.
