Fantastic rendering of the different textures of the clothing.
    What a wonderful figure!
It looks as if it's about to march right out of the photograph.

    Ta! Paul :)
Yes cannot have an enamel mug without it being used for all sorts, charred bottom & remnants of dinner or brew still left in it ;)
It's a fun touch though probably not as hygienic as I suspect these guys actually were to avoid sickness etc.

    Stay safe,

Hello Adrian, Andrew & Marc - grateful for your posts guys - Tx!

54mm is small but like what you can achieve with them, using same techniques as per 1/6th scale.
I actually have some 28mm Maoris I may paint up one day & will be interested to see how techniques work out on them.

    Stay safe,
    Mike

    Hi "Merry" & Brian,

    Thanks for the nice comments.
Got to admit taken back a it by enthusiasm around this little guy.
He is a personal piece & has lots of kit, but other that that I used essentially same techniques I've been practicing on for my ANZACs & pilot over the last couple of years. I do paint with out direct input during the process from others, so I've just boxed on & rely upon critique when painting online. Not sure how this reads so do tell me if its talking cr@p, trying to verbalise my thinking for others to reflect on & help me learn.

Will share some more thoughts over on SBS about equipment used in this project.

Check it out there & feel free to prod & poke my pink matter further :)

    Does this help?

    Stay safe,

    Mike
