I thought I would make a start on this lovely figure whilst I ponder the colour of the DPM jacket on the 200mm Black Watch NI figure...

First some reference pictures taken of a similar uniform whilst meandering around RHQ last October (all pictures taken with permission of the staff)

And some initial progress

exasperated that I cannot seem to load pictures properly...

Can you spot the missing piece of painting?

That is a beauty of a bust isn't it? Is it available still anywhere? I like what you've done so far, good luck with the rest, I'll be following this.

Nice start on this superb David Grieve sculpt.
Pity it's now listed as 'sold out' at CGS.

I can see it could be easily missed, but nothing that a spot of red on a fine brush can't sort out.

I think this 1900 full dress is the smartest of officer uniform
styles .

I agree, imagine a full figure of this!

I have a Peter Twist 100mm figure in w/m of the 48th Highlanders mate.
He was converted to another uniform but the same thing.

I would strongly recommend a book called vanished armies.
it's simply chock a block full of heelan jocks an dicey socks all drawn /painted 1914-1918.
lovely jubbly.
