Keeper of the heaven gate

    Hi all

    This one was inspired by my recent visit to the metropolitan museum in New York where they had a complete chinese court yard on the second floor and half a dozen french 17 and 18th cent rooms .
    A museum packed to the roof with superb displays .

    I will do a short sbs on the making of the base and display scene in th completed fig section once I have this finished .

    That type of arch is commonly known as a moon gate Steve , the carved stone above the arch translates to heaven gate , according to google that is :rolleyes:
    Chinese gardens are generally entered by those types of arch which tend to be tranquil places of meditation , so you gotta be a Scholar before this guy lets you in.

    No Paras and definitely no Marines :D

    The idea is great with the background. So you have to visit New York to find it (long way ;)) The figure and the background works together very good

    No I was In New York visiting my son and family , the figure I bought at Ingolstadt , the base groundwork on the box art was missing so had to make my own .

    LOL Brian I have actually built one of these arches one to one scale on a garden project :) and also bilbo baggins house complete with moon gate arch door and arced windows :D
    doing it on a model is a damn sit easier thats for sure :)
